How Small Things Impact Your Life In A Big Way
Perhaps you’ve heard the phrase “the devil is in the details”. The definition of this phrase simply suggests the hardest part of whatever you are trying to accomplish is in the many small seemingly insignificant details. So, how does this contribute to your DIY Life Makeover.
At first glance, the small things may seem to be insignificant. And they may be. But, small details that aren’t given the proper attention, will likely destroy the major things in your life.
For example I’m going to use the classic case of losing weight. For weight loss to occur, there are several small details that you must do on a daily and consistent basis.
These details can be walking or exercising 30 minutes a day, saying no to your 3rd cup of designer coffee, drinking eight glasses of water a day and several other ‘small’ actions. It’s rarely the big things that stop you from losing weight. Most likely, it’s all the small things you DON’T do consistently that contribute to the failure of losing weight.

Yet, most people don’t want to do the small things because they appear to be unimportant. It can be hard. And that’s why the devil is in the details. It’s not an easy feat to do something you really don’t want to do. But not doing these small acts will derail your success for any big plans you have.
Initial steps you can take in designing your life makeover is to make a conscious effort to pay attention to the small things. Conscious awareness of all the little things that contribute to what you really, want, you will create opportunities to enjoy the big things you desire, regardless of what they are.
Small things you neglect daily can cause a major impact in your life. Allow me to suggest that for just one week, you pay attention to all the small, seemingly insignificant things in your life. Just try it for seven days and see the difference it makes.
Failing to pay attention to the big things in your life means you’re basically telling the universe you can’t be responsible for all the big things waiting for you to enjoy.
Get your life makeover on track. Acknowledge and take consistent action with the details. You’ll start to see what a big impact they can make in your life. In the final analysis, the little things you do will allow you to enjoy the big things in life.
