No Goals Allowed – Enjoy’Goal-Free’ Zones
Posted by Michelle Greene | Posted in Ritutals
Today, hubby and I took our boat out for the first time! Can you believe it, summer is almost over, but anyway, it was an absolutely beautiful summer day, despite the fact that is one of the wettest summers here in Connecticut. I still can’t believe we just got around to taking it out for the first time.
Spending time near, or on the water can be so serene. I had forgotten how relaxing and beautiful it is on the water. We didn’t want to go back in. We had such a relaxing time, and Sam even fell asleep in the cuddy cabin. Taking time out to do nothing is sometimes hard in our fast-paced hectic lives. We tend to forget about making time for relaxation.
So as much as we may be driven to work on our goals, sometimes we have to have ‘goal-free zones’. I first read about this in the Success Code, by Noah St. John.
Sometimes, we may feel a bit guilty, as if we should always be working on our goals and plans. But the irony is, when we take time to unwind, our minds and batteries get recharged and this actually contributes to getting you closer to your goal.
Relaxing and taking it easy may be just what you need to find the solution to a challenge you’re having. Plus, it lets you slow down and smell a few roses along the way.
So the next time you have an opportunity for some R&R, don’t feel guilty, it’s all part of the process to living an extraordinary life.
