Today I had an opportunity to spend the weekend in fabulous Las Vegas. Armand Morin, a world class speaker and marketer is introducing his brand new product, called ‘Brave the Wave‘.
I always love the opportunity to hear Armand speak. I was especially moved when he spoke about Vision – the V in WAVE. I was even more delighted to get an updated photo opp with him.
It was just Armand on stage from 9 -5, delivering content that is designed to make us wealthy, the authority, create our compelling vision, all through education.
He mentioned how people need to have a purpose or a vision in their life. This is something I wholeheartedly agree with.
He went on to further share with us that everyone has a message within us. Some people are prominently sharing their message with the world.
Have you thought about your purpose and what contribution you can make to the world?
Technology can be such a time-saver and a way to make life easier. However, the learning curve can be brutal. I wanted to record the Dr. Oz show yesterday as I was part of a ‘quiz’ segment on the 7 deadly sins.
After realizing there was no way I could get the VCR to work, (I know, so old school), I decided to record it on my laptop. I went online to see how it could be done, and realized I needed a TV tuner. I headed over to Best Buy on Monday morning, got a TV tuner and got busy installing it.
It was a very simple installation. I even recorded a few TV shows just to test it out. It went perfectly. Then Tuesday comes – the big Day. I’m recording – or so I think. To my horror, the reception from the station was poor. And to add insult to injury, just my segment was missing! Huh??!!!! (Consipiracy )
So I had another chance to record today. The show airs twice a day. I manually recorded a show a few minutes earlier, just so I would be recording for sure - or so I thought.
Come to find out, it doesn’t work the way the traditional VCR recording works. It only records the TV show, and when that show is done, so is the recording feature.
Luckily, the timer on my laptop was off, so I was able to get about 2 minutes of the Dr. Oz show. I figured 2 minutes is better than nothing. After I realized I wasn’t recording, I manually recorded the remainder of the show.
A couple of the women, Sin #2, and Sin #5 have promised me a DVD of the show
My biggest reaction to seeing myself on TV? The camera is unkind! We’re not used to seeing ourselves from the side and profile views. When you see this, it’s almost like, “Who is this person?”
And the bad part, no photoshop for video (unless you know how to do it). So one of my New Year’s resolutions is to slim down. Maybe this was just the inspiration I needed to get started. So here’s my ‘cut off portion’ of the show.
Thanks Doctor Oz, the crew and all the particpants for such a wonderful day and experience.
